I am a bit worried about ‘International Women’s Day’ thing and our feminism inspired issue of the school newspaper.
Even though one of the main reasons we’re doing it is to say ‘identifying as a feminist ≠ an evil, fun loathing man-hater’, I am not looking forward to hearing things like when that guy said on twitter ’start a feminist club at our sixth form and i’ll break your face with a pan’ (and went on to say that he’s against it as he thinks it’s anti-men and there’s no point to it now).
But the fact that the person who said that now agrees with what we’re trying to do now and understands that his comments were incorrect, gives me hope that it’ll all work out.
(Hopefully no one else says anything scary - I mean even if it’s a joke, being indirectly told that someone’ll ‘break your face’ is not very pleasant.)
